Safari planning FAQs
Common questions from travellers planning a Southern Africa safari with Njeri Africa Tours.
When is the best time to go on safari in Zimbabwe and Botswana?+
The dry season from May to October offers the best wildlife viewing, with animals concentrated around waterholes. Victoria Falls is most spectacular from February to May after the rains.
Do I need a visa to visit Zimbabwe or Botswana?+
Most visitors can obtain a visa on arrival or use the KAZA UniVisa, which covers both Zimbabwe and Zambia. Botswana is visa-free for many nationalities. We help you sort the paperwork before you travel.
Are your safaris suitable for families and first-time travellers?+
Yes. Every itinerary is tailored to your group's pace, age range and comfort level, with family-friendly lodges and expert local guides on every journey.
What is included in a Njeri Africa safari package?+
Packages typically include accommodation, daily game drives, park fees, transfers and meals at lodge. International flights and travel insurance are quoted separately.
How far in advance should I book my safari?+
We recommend booking 6–9 months ahead for peak season (June–October), as the best camps in Chobe, Hwange and the Okavango fill up early.
Best time of year to travel to Cape Town+
The ideal time to visit Cape Town is during the shoulder seasons of March–May (autumn) and September–November (spring), offering mild weather, fewer crowds, and lower costs.
Best activities to do in Cape Town+
Table Mountain, Cape Point, vineyards and whale boat trips when in season.
